A Clinical Study on Acromioclavicular Dislocation

Abstract
The acromioclavicular joint is classified as a diarthrodial joint.
Its stability is maintained by articular capsule, acromioclavicular ligament, articular disc, coracoclavicular ligament and attached muscles.
There are many procedures described for the treatment of acromioclavicular joint dislocation.
The following clinical results were shown by analysis of 20 cases of acromioclavicular joint dislocation experienced in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Capital Armed Forces General Hospital in the past 3 years from Jan. 1978 to Dec. 1980.
1. This injury was more prevalent in made with the peak incidence in the 2nd and 3rd decades.
2. The most frequent invoved site was Rt. side.
3. Most of injuries were the results of automobile accident or sports accidents, but by direct injuries.
4. The division of acromioclavicular injuries into three type as descrived by Allman itswere 7 cases grade I, 9 cases grade ,I, 4 cases grade ill.
5. Conservative treatment was given in 11 cases, operative treatment was given in 9 cases.
6. The end results were evaluated in 4 group as 11 Excellent, 6 Good, 2 Fair, one Poor.
